Area

The Nomad Plains

Salt and pelts pass for coin among the Vana Kiru — and Harpies hit hard on the way in.

Nomad Plains Map
Recommended immunity mod is 220+ for this area — Harpies can use warcry 2-3 times. You have been warned.

Overview

Enter from NW of Bone Tower in Exkordon, arriving at the S corner of Nomad Plain. You'll meet Kalanur (229,236) of the Vana Kiru tribe who will introduce you to the Nomad ways. The Nomads trade in salt and wolf pelts instead of money.

  • Tribe membership costs 100 salt and is required for trading and gambling.
  • A brown lvl 62 wolf pelt is worth 5 salt.
  • A white lvl 62 wolf pelt is worth 20 salt.

Go NE for a wolf hunt or NW to visit the Vana Kiru tribe. Be cautious of Harpies in the mountains, which can use warcry 2-3 times.

Salt Mines

You'll be assigned 3 monks to help you mine. Each monk can carry one bag of salt. They understand simple commands:

  • Wait: Makes them wait for a short time
  • Come: They will follow you
  • Salt: They will nod to indicate they have salt

Lead monks to ladders in the salt mine (12 total). Protect them from golems. Each ladder can be used once per 12 Astonian days. Return to the monastery when all monks have salt. Reward: 1000 salt per bag mined.

Missing Monks Quest

  • Cave Entrance at 83,74 teleports you to a building with an evil monk (Lvl 73).
  • Defeat Brother Sarkilar to obtain a key and dice.
  • Retrieve the letter from the chest and return it to Kir Laas at the monastery.
  • It's recommended to use a recall scroll after obtaining the letter.
Warning: Do not attempt without a Fireball reflect ring.
