Area

Long Tunnels

No heal, no shield, no potions — just you, the creepers, and your HP pool.

Overview

The entrance to Long Tunnels is located in Aston, opposite Seymour. This area offers a continuous, repeatable challenge with rewards in the form of regular or Military experience. It's particularly useful for aligning your Governor missions with your current level.

Be sure to have sufficient HP for the task, as creepers have high perception and stealth is ineffective. You must kill creepers in each section of the tunnel to open the wall and progress.

Special Circumstances

  • Magic Shield does not work
  • Potions do not work if drunk inside (a stat potion drunk before entering stays in effect)
  • Heal does not work

Creeper Levels and Experience

  • Creepers start at minimum level 10, or 10 below your level, whichever is higher
  • For players over level 120, creepers start at level 110
  • Death here is like RWW: saves still work, and unsaved deaths keep equipment
  • Each level can be done 20 times maximum, after which it will be skipped
  • Experience is reduced each time you repeat the same level:
Exp = (1/number of times you have done the level) x 100%
    e.g., first time (1/1) x 100 = 100%, 20th time (1/20) x 100 = 5%

Pillars and Doors

  • The Green Pillar gives Regular Experience and teleports you out
  • The Red Pillar gives Military Experience and teleports you out
  • Shift-right clicking on a pillar tells you what it gives and how many times you have already done that section
  • The Door bets all the exp on the next level (+1) and teleports you into it. Fail and you lose all.

Tunnel Structure

Each Tunnel consists of 4 sections:

  1. Section 1: 3 roads to choose from
    • 1 road with 13 tunnel creepers
    • 1 road with 9 tunnel creepers
    • 1 road with 5 tunnel creepers
    • All 3 roads give access to the next section
  2. Section 2: 3 roads to choose from
    • All 3 roads have 6 tunnel creepers
    • Only 1 road gives access to the next section
  3. Section 3: 3 roads to choose from
    • 2 roads with 10 tunnel creepers
    • 1 road with 4 tunnel creepers
    • All 3 roads give access to the next section
  4. Section 4: 2 roads to choose from
    • Both roads have 18 tunnel creepers
    • Only 1 road gives access to the columns

Hints & Tips

  • Take a recall — it's the only way out except lagging or dying if you cannot reach the section end
  • Raise those HitPoints — you'll die quickly without them
  • Use Freeze / WC to cut down on damage you take
  • Entrance door to 1st section restores ALL hitpoints
  • Entrance door to subsequent sections restores PARTIAL hitpoints

Notes From the Field

"If you are in long tunnels and your hp is 50 and you have a stat pot that's +25, that's 75 hp. If your stat pot runs out and you use another one, even if you don't have one hp gone, it will not go back up to 75. I just went through 3 doors working on 4 straight tunnels and my pot went out and I clicked on a new one and it did nothing." - Ironblaadee / Mdl
